The first match of TNPL season 2019 will be played on 19 July between Dindigul Dragons and Chepauk Super Gillies at NPR College Ground, Dindigul.
Dindigul Dragons Team
The last year’s runner up of TNPL i.e Dindigul Dragons will start their 2019 campaign when they will take on Chepauk Super Gillies. Dindigul Dragons have lot of batting firepower in terms of batsmen like Hari Nishanth, N Jagadeesan, R Vivek and NS Chaturved. Wicket-keeper batsmen N Jagadeesan, hit a brilliant 51 in the last year’s final also and he is expected to begin the 2019 season with some good batting performance. These top order batsmen make Dindigul team a very strong batting unit.
With Captain Ravichandran Ashwin in the team, Dindigul Dragons bowling will be strengthen a lot. Ashwin can play a huge role with the bat also at times. Other bowlers on which Dindigul’s bowling will rely in this 1st match of TNPL are M Mohammed, Trilok Nag, Mohan Abhinav. These bowlers can bowl terrific spells and lead the Dindigul team to a safe side.
Chepauk Super Gillies Team
Chepauk Super Gillies didn’t enjoy a good 2018 season, as they were the last team in the point table with just 1 win in 7 matches. Hopefully they star the 2019 season of TNPL with some better result under the leadership of their new Captain Vijay Shankar. Having an all-rounder like Vijay Shankar in the side will be a huge boost for the Chepauk Super Gillies. Chepauk’s top batsmen especially B Arun
and S Harish Kumar have to do well with the bat so that pressure can be relieved from the middle order batsmen. The team has to solve their batting and bowling concerns early on to avoid the similar kind of result of last year tournament.
The bowling of Chepauk Super Gillies will revolve around Vijay Shankar, Baskaran Rahul, Gopinath and Murugan Ashwin. These bowlers have to give their best bowling performance to elevate the team in this 1st match of Tamil Nadu Premier League 2019
against Dindigul Dragons.
