A series whitewash will be expected from Afghanistan when they will take on Ireland in the 3rd at Greater Noida Sports Complex Ground on 10th March.
Afghanistan top order batsmen Hazratullah Zazai & Rahmanullah Gurbaz have scored 20s & 30s in both the T20. But extra effort with the bat will be needed from these two in this 3rd T20 against Ireland. Asghar Afghan hit brilliantly 49 runs in the 2nd T20 and helped the team to cross a total over 180. Mohammad Nabi with his short innings of 27 down the order also helped the team to reach in a challenging position.
It was Mujeeb Ur Rahman’s 3 wickets which did a lot of work in restricting Ireland at 163 runs. The team Afghanistan will need his good form with the ball again in this 3rd match.
The good bowling abilities of Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan also makes them Vital Cog in the team.
There were some good performances by Ireland batsman like Paul Stirling, Kevin O Brien and Andrew Balbirnie (c) with the bat. Paul Stirling hit 60 runs in the first T20, but failed completely in the 2nd T20. To avoid disappointment in the 3rd T20 also, these 3 top order batsmen have to display quality batting effort.
Gareth Delany and Harry Tector are other important batsmen in the Ireland team and the team would expect few usefull runs from them also in the middle order.
Lack of bowling depth is also clearly visible in the Ireland team and so far they have been unsuccessful in stopping Afghanistan batsmen. The Ireland bowlers have to put their weight into this 3rd match against Afghanistan.
