Vitality T20 Blast 2022 Schedule, Squad, Teams Update

ECB has announced the schedule for Vitality T20 Blast 2022. The 20th season of T20 Blast will be commenced from 25 May 2022

T20 Blast

Now the Wait for t20 Blast 2022 is finally over as the T20 Blast’s schedule has been announced and the tournament is all set to start from 2 May 2022. Both the Semi-Finals and the Final will be played on 16 july 2022. Full schedule of the Vitality T20 Blast 2020 is now out and you can check it below. A total of 133 matches will be played this year including Semi-Finals and Finals. The first day ie. 25 May, will start with 2 matches to be played. The 133 matches will be played in a total of 18 different venues of England and Wales.

But the biggest news about this season of T20 Blast is that many of the big overseas players will also be the part of this season. So it will be a good news for the cricket lovers of this famous domestic T20 tournament of English County.

Apart from the big names from various Cricket Playing Nations, it will be a good opportunity for new and younger players from to be part of this year’s T20 blast and to show their talent.

T20 Blast, earlier known as the Twenty20 cup was started in 2003. So far 19 seasons have been completed for this tournament and 2022 will be the 20th season.

T20 Blast is one of the longest-running T20 Cricket league which runs for about 2 months. Usually every year it starts in July and ends in September.

A total of 133 matches played between 18 county teams of England and Wales in the last season. The League stage is divided into two divisions: North Divison and South Division. There are 9 teams in each division which are:

North Divison Teams

Derbyshire:

Billy Godleman and Leus du Plooy provide some genuine batting options for the Derbyshire team. These two batsmen will have to capitalize on the start with the bat and they will look to push the game for the team from the start with their handy batting.

Alex Hughes is a top-class allrounder and it will be interesting to see, how the team will utilize his batting and bowling skills. Other players like Shan Masood and Tom Wood can also not be ignored as they have good talent with the bat and they can put the opposition’s bowlers under pressure.

Suranga Lakmal, Mark Watt are the Ace bowlers in the Derbyshire team and they will look to find their rhythm early in the innings.

Durham

Ashton Turner will be the top batsmen in the Durham team. Now he has immense experience of playing in various leagues around the world and everyone is aware of his batting abilities. Durham team will be thrilled to see him bat and if he is at his best then he will be simply unstoppable for any bowler. Other batsmen like Alex Lees, Graham Clark will also keep the stranglehold of the Durham team batting in this season of the Vitality Blast. The presence of Allrounder like Ben stokes also makes the batting of Durham one of the strongest in the tournament.

Mark Wood, Matthew Potts and Brydon Carse will lead the bowling attack for Durham in Vitality Blast 2022 and these are the kind of bowlers who have the ability to ball every delivery in the right direction.

Lancashire

The batting of Lancashire will revolve around Keaton Jennings, Liam Livingstone, and Dane Villas. A good batting performance from these batsmen will give the team a lot of confidence. They have done well in the recent past and they can replicate the same performances in this season also. Captain and Wicketkeeper Dane Vilas is a very good batsman and some match-winning innings can be expected from him also.

Lancashire team also has Jos Buttler but their inclusion in the playing XI will depend upon the availability which looks dim at this moment of time.

Hasan Ali, Jack Morley, Matt Parkinson are going to be the key to Lancashire bowling in 2020 seasons. They will have to apply real pressure with the ball from the start.

Leicestershire:

Captain Colin Ackermann will be the main batsmen in the team who will be required to make the major contribution with the bat. He can make the opposition bowlers nervous with his powerful hittings from the start. He can play big innings with good strike rates. Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Lewis Hill, Sam Evans
can also give consistent performances with the bat for Leicestershire. They will have a good chance to display their potential with the bat.

Depending upon their inclusion in the playing 11, wicket-Keeper batsmen Ben Mike and Harry Swindells can also hit the ball pretty well.

Arron Lilley, Callum Parkinson, and Will Davis make up the fantastic bowling unit of the team. With the presence of these bowlers, the Leicestershire team looks a pretty balanced side for the 2020 season of Vitality Blast.

Northamptonshire

The class of Josh Cobb and Ben Curan will be unquestionable for Northamptonshire when it comes to the batting in the 2022 season. These two are the dangerous batsmen at the top order in the T20s and have played some impressive innings in the recent past and has the power to do it again. The team would like to take advantage of their batting abilities again. Charlie Thurston is the other batsmen in the Northamptonshire side who can shape his innings well according to the situations. Wicket-Keeper Ricardo Vasconcelos can also play some game-changing innings with the bat.

Graeme White, Brandon Glover and Ben Sanderson will have the task of taking the wickets as well as keeping the runs down.

Nottinghamshire

Nottinghamshire possesses the strongest betting side in the vitality blast having batsmen like Alex Hales, Ben Duckett, Ben Slater, Dane Schadendorf, Samit Patel. They have experienced players who have an international experience like Alex Hales, Samit Patel. The batting of Nottinghamshire looks very solid when any of Alex Hales, Ben Duckett, or Samit Patel score runs. These three batsmen have pretty good international experience and are capable of performing very well against any kind of bowling attack.

Daniel Christian, Jake Ball, Luke Fletcher, Matthew Carter have established bowlers into the team and they can give consistent performances with both ball and bat.

Birmingham Bears:

Led by Will Rhodes, Birmingham will depend upon the batting on Adam Hose, Dan Mousley, Dominic Sibley. Sam Hain, Matthew Lamb will also have to lead from the front of the batting effort of Birmingham in this season of Vitality Blast. These have carried out the batting effort for the team in the past and they have to do it again. Birmingham team has always been dependable on betting on their top batsmen.

All-rounder Jacob Bethell has also played a couple of good innings for the teams and the same would be expected from him in this season also.

Jake Lintott, Henry Brookes, Olly Stone will be bowling spearhead for Birmingham in this season of Vitality Blast.

Worcestershire

With the likes of batsmen Azhar Ali, Colin Munro, Jack Haynes, Worcestershire can fancy their chances for success in this season of Vitality Blast. With these in their team, the team can put a towering total on the board. With such dangerous batsmen in the team, Worcestershire can play flawless cricket throughout the season.

There are many all-rounders like Moeen Ali and Dwayne Bravo who can provide adequate support to the team when required.

Brett D’Oliveira, Josh Baker, Pat Brown can do a brilliant job with the ball for Worcestershire. They have a wide variety in their bowling and they have to prove that at various times.

Yorkshire

Yorkshire has batsmen like Adam Lyth, Dawid Malan who are regarded as one of the best batsmen of T20 cricket. Captain David Willey, Dimuth Karunaratne and Jonny Bairstow are the other batsmen in the team who makes the team batting more powerful on paper. The team Yorkshire will also be boosted with the presence of Joe Root, if he plays. The team will be hoping for some good performances from these players.

The likes of Adil Rashid and Haris Rauf are very good in their department and can be dangerous for opposition batsmen in any ground.

South Divison Teams

Kent Spitfires

Kent Spitfires will expect some excellent batting performances from their top batsmenAlex Blake and Ben Compton. These two can make the bowling for opposition bowlers difficult if they found their form early in the innings. These two batsmen will be eager to give a strong performance with the bat and to help the team post a high score on the board. Joe Denly also has the ability to bat with freedom and he can be a real threat for any kind of opposition bowlers.

Jordan Cos, George Linde are good all-rounders in the team and can make their performances counted with both ball and ball.

Bowlers like Matt Henry, Jackson Bird Hamidullah Qadri makes Kent Spitfires a lethal bowling attack. These bowlers are capable of producing good results for their team with the ball.

Middlesex:

Middlesex will be led by Eoin Morgan who will be the main man for the team who can set up the platform at the top. He has done terrifically well for county as well as for the international side in the last some time. There are plenty of other positives in the Middlesex team as far as the batting of the team is concerned as they have top class batsmen like Joshua De Caires, Mark Stoneman in their team. If the overseas players will join the team, then it will surely be a big boost for the team.

Middlesex also has a good combination of all-rounders also like Peter Handscomb, Sam Robson who add woes to the opposition team with their excellent batting as well as bowling performances.

The strongest pillar of the Middlesex bowling attack will be Mujeeb Ur Rahman who has appeared as a world-class bowler and shown his performance in several leagues around the world. Shaheen Shah Afridi can also give consistent performances with the ball.

Essex:

Youngsters like Feroze Khushi, Daniel Lawrence, and Tom Westley will take the batting responsibilities of the team on their shoulders. These batsmen have shown good performances with the bat in the last seasons and they need to repeat the same performances again. Daniel Sams has long international as well as domestic cricket experience with him and he still can be dangerous with both bat as well as the ball.

Matt Critchley, Tom Westley are into the Essex team as specialist all-rounders, although they have underperformed in the recent seasons they can up come stronger in this Vitality Blast 2022 season.

Bowlers like Aaron Nijjar, Mark Sketetee make up a strong playing eleven of the Essex team.

Somerset:

The real star for Somerset with the bat in Vitality Blast 2020 season will be James Hildreth. If he gets some runs at the top, then the team Somerset will have no worry in terms of getting the good start at the top. Another ace batsmen in the team will be Matt Renshaw, who if will be in absolute form can cause real threats to the opposition teams. Apart from these two, captain Tom Abell is also good batsmen, and other players like Tom Banton, Will Smeed have emerged as good players in the last some time.

It is the bowling department, where Somerset needs to perform well and the bowlers like Jack Leach, Marchant de Lange, Lewis Gregory and Sonny Baker have the ability to take that responsibility.

Gloucestershire

Gloucestershire has some brilliant batsmen in their team including captain Graeme Van Buuren who can lead his team batting on his own shoulders. Another batsman to see in the Gloucestershire team would be Ian Cockbain, who can be consistent with the batting and can find a place to bat at the top in this year’s Vitality Blast. Batsmen like Jack Taylor, Marcus Harris and Benny Howell can provide good assistance to their team with the bat. There are some recognized all-rounders also in the team who can carry the Gloucestershire team campaign in this year’s tournament.

Gloucestershire team performance will depend heavily on their bowlers especially Brad Wheal, David Payne, Naseem Shah. These three bowlers add good firepower to the bowling attack of Gloucestershire. The key for the team with the bowling will be no doubt Naseem Sha as he has the capability to ball well in the start as well as in the middle and depth of the innings.

Hampshire

Hampshire team will rely heavily on the power-hitting of their batsmen like Ben Mcdermott, Felix Organ and Captain James Vince himself. If at least two of these batsmen get going for the Hampshire in this year’s tournament, then the team can easily find their tactics working on. These are the kind of batsmen, who loves batting in the short format of cricket especially in T20 Cricket. Liam Dawson has performed very well with the bat as well with the ball for various T20 leagues. He has emerged as one of the most successful all-rounders in recent times in the T20 format.

The main thing for the Hampshire team will be to get a good start from the top order batsmen . By getting a good start, the middle and lower order batsmen like Liam Dawson can provide good support with the bat.

Team Hampshire has a very well recognized bowling lineup having bowlers like Kyle Abbott, Scott Currie, Nathan Ellis. These bowlers can perform consistently and don’t fail much often.

Sussex

A strong batting unit is made up of Sussex in this season of Vitality Blast by having batsmen Ravi Bopara, Josh Philippe and Tom Clark. These batsmen have a strong chance to be successful with the bat and make some useful contributions. Tom Haines and Aaron Beard are also to watch out with the bat for Sussex.

Al rounders like Ollie Robinson and Luke Wright can also play some match-winning innings with both bat and ball for the team. These all are the top class batsmen in the Sussex team and if they get some runs under their belt, then the team will surely find it in a better situation.

Bowlers will be the real match-winners for the Sussex team in this year’s Vitality blast tournament as the team has the top class bowlers in their side, to name a few are George Garton, Rashid Khan, Tymal Mills. These bowlers can win the match for their team on their own.

Glamorgan

Colin Ingram is the top and most consistent batsmen for Glamorgan in the last few seasons. It will be brilliant to watch him batting at the top and getting some big knocks to give this team a good start. So Colin Ingram will definitely be an important cog in the Glamorgan team batting lineup.

The batmen like David Lloyd and Marnus Labuschagne can demolish any kind of bowling attack and if they get an initial start, then they can easily set up a good stage for their team.

Glamorgan has very good options in their bowling department also. They have Dan Douthwaite, Andrew salter, Timm Van der Gugten in their team who have the ability to tame any kind of batting unit.

Surrey

There are only a few teams in the Vitality Blast having a strong world-class top order and Surrey is one of them as they have Jason Roy in their team whose abilities to bat at the top do not need any explanation. He can start smashing from the very first ball and take the charge to handle any kind of bowling. He has been doing well not only in international cricket but also has been a vital part of various teams in different T20 leagues around the World.

Wicket-keeper batsmen Ollie Pope, Rory Burns, and Ryan Patel can also provide the kind of scores that the team needs them in the middle order. They will be required to perform as per expectations and play a couple of good innings with the bat.

In the bowling department of the Surrey team, Sam Curran, Sunil Narine and newly appointed captain Chris Jordan will always be threatening to the op potions team batsmen. Tom Curran also has the ability to find a place in playing XI and can make the opposition batsmen struggle.
